Fuková, Miroslava ; Macas, Tomáš (advisor) ; Havel, Jan (referee)
Title: The analysis of force and pressure against inner and outer skis in alpine disciplines Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to outline a review study of inner and outer ski force analysis in alpine skiing Methods: This thesis is presented as a review study outsourcing via research method, analysis, and comparison method. The purpose is to search, synthesise, and extract existing knowledge on inner and outer ski force in alpine skiing. The pressure against skis has been defined as the main parametr. Results: We came to a conclusion that pressure against outer ski dominates over pressure against inner ski based on the sources used in this thesis. We found out that in most cases the outer ski was under bigger pressure, and in rare cases not so. Conclusion: The practical usage of this thesis is to improve reader's overview on ski techniques, and the importance of implementing outer ski force awareness into basic set of skills among young skiers. This skill is crucial from certain point in a skier career for future improvement of technique and faster management of tracks. As a follow-up of the research we advise to carry out an empirical in-field measurement of outer ski pressure and the angle of angulation, especially within young skiers. This research can be done by tensometric insoles with 3D...
Development of technique in downhill skiing with a focus on step and pedal technique
Bakaljar, Adrian ; Macas, Tomáš (advisor) ; Havel, Jan (referee)
Title: Development of technique in downhill skiing with a focus on step and pedal technique. Objectives: The aim of the work is to create a comprehensive overview study of alpine skiing technique and its development from step to pedal technique. This study will be an inspiring and practical source of information for ski instructors and teachers. Methods: In this work, we used the research method and the analysis method. We determined the movement of the skier's centre of gravity, cornering of the turn and pressure work as the tracking parameters. We used various sources by searching and studying professional publications in available databases and libraries. Results: We found that the technique of descending and turning on skis changed over time along with the change in ski equipment. The observed differences between the crotch a pedal technique show a great similarity between the two techniques. The fundamental difference in techniques was the movement of the skier's centre of gravity and the different degree of use of skiing skills. The step technique is based on the movement of the skier's central centre of gravity and dominates the edging skill, while the pedal technique is based on changing the load on the skis and dominates the work with pressure. Title: Reconditioning program after ACL injury in alpine skiing. Objectives: The main goal of my work is to describe the general procedure in the rehabilitation and reconditioning program after an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament, which was caused by fall in alpine skiing. Methods: The work is written in the form of literary research. I drew from available books on alpine skiing, physiological and anatomical textbooks. I searched for terms such as sports injuries, mechanisms of injuries in sports, anterior cruciate ligament, rehabilitation program, reconditioning program. Results: A set of post ACL surgery excersises for alpine shiers. The result is a program that I compiled. It has been discussed and approved by the physiotherapists and fitness trainers working in sports and alpine skiing. My work serves as a general rehabilitation and reconditioning instruction after anterior cruciate ligament surgery. Individual periods of return with gradual loading of the operated limb are discussed. The set of exercises is designed for a professional skier to help him return to racing. Keywords: alpine skiing, ACL, injury, rehabilitation, reconditioning

The comparison of strength of lower limbs in different ski and snowboard disciplines
Tišer, Kryštof ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Gnad, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Comparison of explosive strength of lower limbs in different ski and snowboard disciplines. Aims: The aim of this thesis is to compare explosive strength of lower limbs in different ski and snowboard disciplines. Methods: This is an empiric-theoretical thesis. A simple experiment (testing) was used to verify the hypothesis. 6 used sets participated in the quantitative research. Testing was carried out using two standardized tests, broad jump and vertical jump (Sargent jump). In both tests the best of the three trials was evaluated. Results: In two tests for the explosive strength of the lower limbs significant differences in this ability were shown between some ski disciplines and snowboardcross. The best results in both tests were achieved by representatives of alpine skiing which disproved our hypotheses. Only the expectation that ski jumpers would perform better than the nordic combination was fulfilled. Key words: explosive strength, broad jump, vertical jump, skiing, cross country skiing, grass skiing, nordic combination, ski jumping, alpine skiing, snowboardcross

Ptáčník, Marek ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Fořterová, Petra (referee)
Title: The inclusion of high altitude training for attendance in alpine skiing races Objectives: The purpose of this Bachelor thesis was on the grounds of collected information determine, if the training in hypoxic area is needed for attendance in alpine skiing disciplines. Methods: In this Bachelor thesis was used the method of documents analysis, then searching in electronic database was used. Next method was collecting information from schedule of every single alpine discipline races. Results: Results of thesis are, that neccesity of inclusion hypoxic training is different for each discipline. We may say, that high altitude training is needed for downhill and super G specialists, whose performence is very often longer than 90 seconds, which is the border known as very imoprtant for inclusion of high altitude training. Hypoxic training for technical disciplines is not neccesary in view of the fact that races in slalom and giant slalom didn't cross the border of 90 seconds even once. Altitude of single races gives us similar results. Races of downhill and super G take place very often in 2000 meters above sea level - 33 races of 45 in super G and 31 of 56 in downhill. 2000 meters above sea level is the decisive border for high altitude training inclusion. Races of technical disciplines take place...
